ICF Credentialing

Credentialing: Continue Your Coaching Journey with the Gold Standard of Professional Coaching

ICF offers the most globally recognized, independent credentialing program for coach practitioners.

Coaches holding an ICF credential meet stringent education and experience standards. They are required to uphold strong principles of ethical behaviors in coaching, to commit to the industry as a coaching professional and to continue development and refinement of their coaching skills.

ICF Credentials and Standards is the body that oversees and manages the credentialing of individual coach practitioners. This realm is one of the six unique family organizations that make up the whole of ICF.

Studies indicate that 85% of coaching clients say it’s important or very important that their coach holds a certification or credential. ICF offers three.

1. ACC: Associate Certified Coach
2. PCC: Professional Certified Coach
3. MCC: Master Certified Coach

ICF-CF is committed to assisting our members by providing periodic updates and resources that may be helpful when considering or pursuing an ICF credential.

The ICF-CF chapter values you and your interest in pursuing your ICF credential.

For any credential, ICF requires coach-specific training, defined as training that is specifically developed and delivered based on the ICF’s Core Coaching Competencies .

There are three levels of ICF credential.

Watch the video to the left (Password is: Demonstration) see examples of the three levels of coaching, then click on the credential banner below for additional information on each. Successful completion of the ICF’s written Coach Knowledge Assessment is required for every credential level.

You can also purchase our webinar on the Updated Core Competencies - January 2021 presented by Carrie Abner, Vice President, ICF Credentials and Standards on our website.
