When Either/Or Won’t Do: Engaging the Power of Both/And for Sustainable Coaching Impact
May 17 (Tampa)
* Please note that the walk-in fee is $40 for both members and guests.
Presenter: Ann Deaton
Objectives:
The pull of competing commitments goes by many names: polarity, paradox, wicked problem, tension. Our clients all experience them: choosing between a rich home life and a successful career; the reality of what is and the dream of what could be; being a confident leader or a humble one. When clients show up feeling stuck in the mire of Either/Or dilemmas, we do them a disservice when we don’t explore the possibility, and often the necessity, of Both/And solutions. Absent this choice, our coaching clients often cycle through the same challenges over and over again.
In this experiential session, participants will have the opportunity to identify several polarities that show up for coaches, and those that your clients bring to coaching. You will learn the clarifying structure of a Polarity Map and learn how to create and navigate through several maps together.
